A Rugged Row Unit Built for Accuracy at Your Speed

Not all fields are postcard perfect or workbench level. Not all soils are mellow, sandy loam. Residue conditions vary. The new 2000 series Early Riser planter quickly knows and accommodates the difference. Heavy-duty cast components help the new 2000 series stand up to high speeds and tough, fast-changing conditions. And they do so without sacrificing the agronomic advantages that have helped Early Riser planters set the industry standard.

See how the industry’s most agronomically designed row unit has been redesigned from the ground up to give you more out of every acre.

Built for High-Efficiency Planting

  • Cast-iron components provide increased strength to withstand rugged terrain and fast changing conditions
  • 26-inch toolbar clearance, plus 16 inches of vertical row unit travel accommodate rapid terrain changes without sacrificing accurate seed depth

Durable Opening System

  • An agronomic offset design helps blades slice through tough crop residue and hard soils to reduce residue “hairpinning”
  • Heavy-duty openers 15-inch diameter and 4.5 millimeters thick Earth Metal® blades provide long-lasting durability
  • Spring-adjust mud scrapers stay in place, even as they wear, for improved performance in heavy, wet soils

Clean Furrow, Consistent Depth

  • Industry’s only flat-bottom seed trench provides proper depth and more consistent seed placement
  • Extended-wear seed shoe and firming point help ensure optimal placement and precise depth control for uniform emergence

Reduced Sidewall Compaction

  • Exclusive pulled — not pushed — gauge wheels and their soil relief groove help eliminate sidewall compaction, providing consistent soil density for uniform warming and nutrient availability
  • Gauge wheels roll along maintenance free — without so much as a grease fitting, even on the gauge wheel arms
  • Gauge wheel load feedback standard with in-cab adjustment of row unit air downforce

Quick, Easy Adjustments

  • Simple, accessible T-handle depth adjustment makes changing seeding depth in 1/8-inch increments quick and easy
  • Indexing system provides consistency across all row units
  • Alphanumeric scale easily confirms all row units are set to the same depth

The Perfect Finish

  • Two-stage closing system puts finishing touches on the seed bed
  • Inverted closing disks provide consistent replacement and soil coverage back over the seed, while the press wheel ensures proper seed-to-soil contact for uniform emergence
  • For quick changes, an in-cab adjustment option can fine-tune closing disk down pressure to suit different field conditions
  • Optional V-press wheel closing available with conventional gauge wheel
