ACHIEVE BIG PRODUCTIVITY

Seeding at a condition-appropriate speed eliminates the risk of soil throw onto adjacent rows that can cause poor seed placement and result in uneven emergence.

BIG CONCEPT WITH DEEP ROOTS
Bourgault has invested thousands of hours and acres into the design, testing and operation of the 3420 ParaLink Hoe Drill™. Our Designers, Operators and Co-operators put the 3420 PHD™ through most every scenario so that the final product was ready to work.

THE TRANSFOLD™ SYSTEM

See How it Works
Controlled by the Operator via the X35 Apollo System, the unique TransFold™ design provides an incredibly narrow transport width for easy maneuverability when traversing challenging roadways and turning tight corners making transporting a unit of this size stress-free.

FORGIVING OVER UNEVEN GROUND
Despite its incredible width, the 3420 PHD™ follows dips and draws with ease.

TREADLITE™ SPREADS THE LOAD
Flotation is maximized with the TreadLite™ System, which contours independently of the rest of the frame, providing a consistent down pressure. The system is composed of two independent rear wheels that fold down in field position (a set down pressure is set at the factory based on the drill's configuration).

  • An optimal load balance is achieved between the front, in-frame and TreadLite™ wheels.

THE PHD™ OPENER
The 2:1 contour ratio of the PHD™ Opener Assembly is designed to deliver good contouring characteristics, excellent penetration and consistent results in a wide range of seeding conditions.

THE PLX™ OPENER
Close Contouring for Precise Placement
The PLX™ Opener provides a 1:1 contour ratio, the choice of Producers challenged with variable field topography. Essentially a rebranding of the XTC™ Opener, the PLX™ provides the same opener characteristics as it did with the 3320 ParaLink Hoe Drill™ Series.

Note: Available on the 3330SE & 3335QDA ParaLink Hoe Drills™ and the HD Frame Mounted Seeder™.

DRILL CONTROL
PackMaster™ & LiftMaster™
Two Drill Control features that improve both efficiency and field finish are the PackMaster™ option and the LiftMaster™ feature:

  • The PackMaster™ option provides automatic packing pressure adjustment as soil conditions change, providing more uniform results and even germination.
  • LiftMaster™ is a standard feature that allows the Operator to set the drill to automatically lift the openers at the field headlands.

Drill Control features are supported by the X35 Apollo System.

PACKER & OPENER OPTIONS
It's All About Choice
The Bourgault PHD™ seed drills allow you to choose the opener and packer wheel combination that works best for your conditions and farming techniques.

MRB® FERTILIZER APPLICATION SYSTEM
Optimal Seed-To-Fertilizer Placement
Series III Mid Row Banders® Fertilizer Applicators achieve the best possible returns by placing your nitrogen fertilizer in the optimal location when one-pass seeding.

Applicators are available in two formats:

  • Mid Row Bander® Fertilizer Applicators;
  • Mid Row Shank™ Fertilizer Applicators.

Availability varies on drill types and sizes.

HYDRAULIC REQUIREMENTS

Recommended Flow Requirements
Hydraulic flow requirements are highest when turning on the headlands. The recommended flow allows the seeding system to be raised and lowered within two headlands.

Hydraulic Requirements:
Hydraulic oil flow of 25 gpm is recommended for all configurations of 3420 ParaLink™ Hoe Drills

  • Recommended hydraulic flow should provide minimal fan slowdown during headland turns. The openers will take hydraulic flow priority over the fans.
  • If operating at minimum flow requirements, the air seeder fan speed will drop during headland turns. This may require a 3rd headland to allow the openers time to raise and lower.
  • With many tractors, maximum hydraulic flow drops off sharply prior to maximum operating pressure. By setting the tractor to a pressure setting of 3100 psi, the hydraulic flow will be near the rated output at the maximum operating pressure.
  • It is recommended to use ¾” couplers on the tractor and implement, as this will greatly reduce the pressure drops and will increase the flow of oil to the fan or opener cylinders.
